Welcome to the Lived Data Collective.

We’re a research group at the University of Maryland, College Park, committed to bridging data and lived experience through visualization. As part of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (HCIL), we study, design, and build human-centered visualizations that prioritize cognitive accessibility, reflect diverse lived experiences, and inform real-world decision-making.

Our mission is to make data understandable to every mind, relatable for everyday people and relevant to everyday life. We believe that when data has a heart and life (hint: see our logo), it becomes more than facts and figures, but insight, inspiration, and a force for change.
